How to Pick the Right Seat
Match the Seat to the Event
Concerts and sports call for different picks. For concerts, avoid sections directly beside the stage - the angle is awkward even at row 1. Center stage in the lower bowl beats side-of-stage at any row. For NBA at Intuit Dome or NFL at SoFi, sideline seating between the 30-yard lines or center court is worth the premium. End-zone and corner seats are fine for the price, but you give up a lot of context.
Upper Bowl is Closer Than You Think
The Kia Forum's 200-level is steep - which means row 1 of the upper bowl is still only about 60 feet above the floor. At SoFi, the 300 mezzanine outperforms corner 100-level seats in both angle and atmosphere, at roughly half the price. At YouTube Theater, the balcony's farthest row sits around 200 feet from the stage. Buy one tier up from what you think you need and check the price difference first.
Floor Seating at Arena Shows
Standing general admission floor at Kia Forum or Intuit Dome is first-come positioning. Arrive an hour after doors open and you are 15-20 rows back from the stage. For reserved floor rows at either arena, rows 1-10 put you inside 50 feet of the stage. The tradeoff is a slight upward viewing angle - most people find it worth it, but if neck strain is a concern, lower bowl row 5 beats floor row 5 every time.
